"I think it should be a lot of fun," she said.
Case is handling lead vocals, which, he concedes, is a twist. At least in terms of genre.
"For years, I've been talking about it, doing something around the holidays, but not a holiday thing. It's not a Christmas thing. There's no Christmas songs. But something, then, when people are home.
will be quite an experience," Mitchell said of Framboise. The latter could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Having such a seasoned professional in your corner is a boon, especially when testing the waters with an entertainment genre somewhat foreign to the hinterland, Mitchell said.
Then there's the ladies.
And you hail Bettie Page a peach.
Later in the show, burlesque performers both local and imported will take the stage, accompanied by Case and company.
Case and his nine piece band will belt out jazz hits from the 1940s, '50s, '60s and later, covering everyone from Ol' Blue Eyes to Michael Bubl.

music, you can practise to every beat . You can get it kind of down pat," Mitchell said. "But (with recorded music), it is kind of a surprise."
Chances are, you'd be in your element Sunday night at The Grand Theatre when the curtains open for James Case The Aces, featuring the 1st Annual Sault Ste. Marie Burlesque Revue.
Mitchell was won over.
Mitchell's involvement added another "exciting" element to the show. Studying burlesque occasionally in Toronto, she's rubbed shoulders with, and taken instruction from, Coco Framboise, a well known Toronto performer, who runs her own burlesque school and has been a featured special guest instructor on a number of television shows, including The List, Three Takes, Matchmaker, and The Mom Show.
Framboise will be featured Sunday.

"I normally perform sort of blues or roots or even rock vocals with a guitar in my hand," he added. "That's kind of how I'm comfortable, how I'm known. But I'm not going to be holding an instrument. It's just going to be me and the microphone.
"I said, 'Hey, I'm thinking of doing this show, this jazz show. Would you be interested in perhaps performing?' " Case said.

"There's no actual nudity in it," Case said. Miss Tallulah Gin, a founding Mollies member, now more on her own.
"I've been wanting to do something like this for years and years," said Case, usually known as Jay ("I figure for this show, being a classy event, I would change it up a little bit and call it James," he chuckled.) when he's billed with other musical acts around Sault Ste. Marie, including Big Wheel And The Spokes.
"So it's going to be something new and different and very, very exciting."
"In the beginning, I wasn't quite sure how the reception (to burlesque) was going to be (in the Sault) because we are a kind of closed minded community," she said, laughing. Puma High Tops Shoes
A challenge for her and Alexis Au Lait, a Salty Mollies member also performing Sunday, will be moving to live music as opposed to the canned variety.
Case worked in the past with The Salty Mollies, a Sault based burlesque ensemble, and thought the combination of classic jazz and such a celebration of the female form simply irresistible.
