After spending his early childhood in Cornwall, Albert moved with his parents to Sault Ste. Marie, where Mary Jo grew up and "she's got a lot of stepsisters and step brothers," Kosiba said.
"I don't know. It's never going to replace him, that's for sure," said Ed Kosiba on Friday, before heading to Cornwall, where his grandson is buried and the first degree murder trial of an alleged young offender begins Monday.
The three will spend the projected six weeks of the trial in Cornwall.
The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with first degree murder.
To make matters worse, Albert's mother, Mary Jo (Boiss o n n e au) Lemoyre, lost her husband, Daniel Lemoyre, to cancer last November.
