For Bruce, retirement will not mean letting go of his community involvement, but will see him take a step back to relax.
In fact, it would seem he has tried his hand at many different hobbies, from being a member of the Whyalla Gliding Club to taking to helping form the Tanderra Craft Markets.
"It has been exciting, tiring and yet incredibly fulfilling, living and working in this community."
Bruce's efforts were recognised when he was named Whyalla's Citizen of the Year at the annual Australia Day awards.
Bruce Ledo is a man driven by a passion to make a difference.

He and Vicki shared their love for Whyalla for 25 years, living and working in the city together, before she sadly passed away in 2012.
Bruce believes his retirement will see him moving on from Whyalla, but said he would always cherish his time in the city.
He plans to continue his love for bike riding well into retirement and hopes to travel and see all the sights he has ever dreamed of seeing.
Bruce said while he had a passion for the community, his foremost passion was for the youth of today.

Bruce was lucky enough to experience one of the greatest things in life; true love, and spent nearly 45 years with the love of his life, Vicki.

This is a question he hopes to answer soon, but for the time being, he is waiting to see where life takes him.

"The organisations, groups and clubs in Whyalla have got to build a meaningful relationship with the young people, they need to change to recognise the change of young people and be willing to let go."
Bruce has taught at a number of local schools, most recently at Stuart High School and Whyalla High School.
"I have to say 'thank you' to Whyalla and for everything it's given me, because anything I've given to Whyalla has been a way of repaying the huge amount of what Whyalla's given me and Vicki," he said.
Throughout his time in Whyalla Bruce has been a part of many community groups.
But he is not just a teacher, Bruce is a community leader, and has always strived to make a difference in his community.
"This is a beautiful community," he said.
"[I've enjoyed] the relationships I've built with the young people and the opportunity to never have to grow up," he said.

For Bruce, seeing young people develop, both in their personal Puma Sneakers Mens and academic lives, is something he has cherished throughout his teaching career, and something that has kept him young at heart.
